That is why we are offering you a sample of our premium Peruvian

agree that Cafe Monte Alto coffee is worth your attention.
As founders of Cafe Monte
Alto, we are committed to bringing only the best coffee to our
customers. We represent only the finest coffees available.
Premium Estate Coffee from quality plantations around the world.
Our family has been in the coffee business for three generations.
We've owned plantations in Puerto Rico and South America for over
65 years and represent other premium growers in the region.
We also have experience as roasters and retailers of fine
specialty coffees so we can share insight into many of the issues
that confront our industry and marketplace.
Cafe Monte Alto is committed to fair
pricing at each level on the product chain - sustaining
the farmers so availability of fine specialty coffee can continue
- while maintaining environmentally sound practices at the
agricultural level. We also know roasters and
retailers need a profit and that consumers are willing to pay for
quality.
The coffee industry is in crisis. Farmers are resorting to
drastic measures just to make a living. Current commodity
pricing is at less than fifty cents. While costs to farmers is
eighty-five cents or more. This situation is not sustainable.
We are concerned that premium coffee availability is already
diminishing. Sources are drying up, and precious habitat is
being eliminated to increase production. Additionally, many
small farmers are turning to coca production: which has severe
consequences, not only for the region in which the farmers live, but
here in the U.S. too. The social and financial outcome of the
current situation is of critical concern. We know consumers will
share these concerns and be willing to pay more.
A key step toward improving the profitability of coffee is to increase
the value of the product by increasing quality - both in terms of
flavor and for the consumer. We believe our coffees do just
that. In order to maintain this quality resource, we pay growers
top dollar and ensure our roasters the very best. Fair trade
coffee is what we are about. We guarantee the farmer $1.26 per
pound for green coffee - this guarantees our quality. If you purchase larger
amounts we are open to negotiations.
Our margins are slim, but we are willing to work with you.
Please join us in our mission to preserve quality-growing operations,
premiere coffee choices, and a healthy environment.
